The view across the loch through the sauna window

The window

Panoramic, pointed at the water. The best seat in Scotland, and it's 100 degrees.

A swimmer walking into the loch for a cold dip

The dook

Straight into the loch when you're ready. Entirely optional, regularly life-changing.

The wood-fired stove glowing inside the sauna

The fire

Proper wood-fired löyly, run by someone who knows the stove. No electric heater pretending.

A group of swimmers chatting in the loch under a grey sky

The people

Regulars, first-timers, somebody's mum. Strangers when the door shuts, pals by the second dook.

How a session works

  1. Book

55 minutes, yours. Come sauna ready and arrive ten minutes early to get yourself sorted.

  2. Heat & dook

Use your session how you like. Our perfect hour: 15 in the heat, a ten minute dook, back in for more. Never more than 15 minutes in at a stretch.

  3. Drink water

A lot of it. You'll be doing a lot of sweating. That's rather the point.

The Hot Tottie crew beside the sauna

Started with a house deposit and a daft idea

One wood-fired sauna, towed to the bonniest beach we could find. Now there are two lochs, a crew who know the stove, and a steady stream of folk leaving warmer and happier than they arrived.

Maisie couldn't of been more welcoming! And her beautiful dog Lemon was a lovely surprise ❤️ the sauna was very clean, just like the other hot tottie ones. Brilliant location with amazing views and direct access to crystal clear river that leads to Loch Lomond. I will definitely be back!

What a fantastic experience! The setting is absolutely beautiful, right on the shores of Loch Lomond with amazing views across the water. The sauna itself is great, but the best part has to be the hot-and-cold experience. Getting out of the sauna and taking a dip in the cold river certainly wakes you up! Then it’s straight back into the sauna to warm up again. It’s such a simple thing, but the combination feels brilliant. There’s something really special about sitting in the sauna, warming up and looking out across Loch Lomond. It’s peaceful, relaxing and a great way to switch off for a while. Definitely something I’d recommend. Great experience, fantastic location and a brilliant way to spend an hour.

There’s a good vibe to this sauna. It feels welcoming and relaxed - not at all pretentious. The loch is easy to get into, a nice size and great views. Good parking for the sauna and a short walk down makes it easily accessible. The sauna itself isn’t state of the art but it does the job and the staff and general feel of it make it one of the best saunas I’ve been to.
